CHIRVAN carpet (Caucasus), late 19th century Dimensions: 149 x 112cm. Technical features: Wool velvet on wool foundation. A bluish field covered with polychrome flowers and small animals, hosts three hexagonal medallions (two ivory and one anthracite), crenellated and decorated with entomological forms and multicolored flowers. Two brick borders with small flowers frame the main ivory medallion with a series of stylized insects.
