KAZAK carpet (Caucasus-Armenia), late 19th century
Dimensions: 218 x 113cm.
Technical features: Wool velvet on wool foundation.
The ivory border decorated with stylized, multicolored oak leaves and chalices is flanked by two counter-borders, one blue, the other brick with polychrome florets. The three of them frame a rectangular blue field with small animals, Kotchaks, hourglasses and various small symbols, highlighting four medallions of multicolored entomological shapes. Beautiful colors.
