HILLA carpet (Caucasus-Shirvan), late 19th century
Dimensions: 196 x 130cm.
Technical features: Wool velvet on wool foundation.
Two hexagonal medallions with "hooks" and six crenellated crosses, all in brick color with stylized polychrome flowers, lie on a marine field with various geometric symbols. Two counter-borders with "chess pawns" and two others with a garland of small "S" surround the main brick with a tricolored "double S".
