Kurdish work, late 17th - early 18th century Northwest Persia Rare Jardin Chahar bagh carpet Wool velvet on cotton backing. Raspberry field decorated with fine lines forming labyrinths, seeded with ivory, midnight-blue and celadon-green flower-bud plants forming a floral composition framing a beige and pale sky-blue crenellated central medallion surrounded by pastel-toned feathers and floral bulbs. Four spandrels reminiscent of the central medallion. Spearhead border.
