Important publication intended as a perfect description of France, with text folios, steel-engraved plates and a fold-out map for each department. It was published in separately paginated issues with unequal numbers of pages. The issues are randomly bound here. Each volume is preceded by 2 unnumbered leaves, and the work ends with a Statistical Overview of France by Girault de Saint-Fargeau (1836) of (2f.)-135 and 70.
Our copy contains an engraved title dated 1835, 747 hors-texte plates of portraits, views and monuments, and 86 hors-texte maps of the départements. The large map is missing.
