Second edition in French. It is larger than the first, published in Paris in 1672.
A title drawn and engraved by Decker and 15 copper-engraved plates, including 2 fold-outs. They show corals, stones, shells, seashells, plants, fossils, a view of Mount Etna and an astonishing representation of petrified fish teeth called Glossopetres & found in the Isle of Malthe. The author, a Sicilian by birth, often refers to the stones, corals and plants of Sicily.
The work is cited by Bosgoed in his Bibliotheca ichthyologica et piscatoria, which gives only the 1674 edition.
