LACHENAL Edmond (1855-1948), "Hommage à Pasteur", medallion "série des hommes illustres", porcelain, signed, diam: 29 cm. Edmond Lachenal, who trained with Victor Rouvier from 1867 and worked with Théodore Deck, opened his own workshop in Malakoff in 1881, specializing in matte enamel. Winner of a gold medal at the 1889 Universal Exhibition, he collaborated with well-known sculptors and artists. After 1904, Lachenal turned his back on ceramics for comedy and painting, but remained an influential figure in ceramic art.
