Peeters was a member of the Antwerp painters' guild in 1675 and 1676. In 1683, his mother Martina signed a five-year drawing and painting apprenticeship contract for her son with Master Hendrick van
Minderhout.
Until October 2008 (Tajan sale, October 24, 2008, no. 77), our painting was paired with another composition, Elegants in front of a classical palace (Toile).
