A Greek marble head of a woman with cecryphalos, 4th century B.C.
Late Classical marble head of a woman with a hairnet (cecryphalos). The head slightly tilted to the left and turned to the left. Nose and lower part of the face slightly rolled up. The hair gathered into a bun at the back of the head and held together at the top with the kekryphalos. Mounted on a modern wooden base. Height without base 9.7 cm, with base 17.2 cm.
Provenance: From the holdings of a Viennese gallery. From the estate of the gallery owner's father, Regierungsrat E.D.
