Lively village by the river

It was Waldemar-George who, referring to Fiorio's painting, wrote in a letter to a friend: "I don't consider this artist to be a naive painter. He paints like a Sienese primitive. He has the freshness of perception and the untouched eye of Lorenzetti. He also has their cheerful knowledge. His vision is that of a poet, an enchanter who has rediscovered the gift of childhood wonder.
