A set of 35 vol. in-fol. marbled calf, spine ribbed, ornamented, title-piece in red and green marble for some and maroon for others (contemporary binding). FIRST EDITION. With one plate in volume 1 of the text (figurative system of human knowledge), 4 tables in volumes I, II and III of the supplement and approx. 2926 plates (or 3129 if double or triple plates are counted). Plates 20, 21 and second 22 (anatomy) in volume 1, pl. 27 (surgery) in volume 3, and pl. 1, 2 and 3 (hermaphrodites) have been cut out (perhaps too boldly) and replaced in the volumes, they are loose and a little short-margined. Incomplete frontispiece and plate l'amidonnier in volume 1 of plates. Volume I of text is larger, marginal tears to pl. LXXI to vol. VI and pl. II (silverware) in vol. VIII, scuffing on some boards, wear to corners and headpieces, damage to upper coif of vol. VII, different endpapers. From the library of the Château de Mouchy-Noailles. 1806.
