Saber, model attributed to the artillery of the Garde des Consuls. Patent leather-covered handle. Brass mounting, stamped with "B" in English letter, the letter "V" and the "BOUTET" bar, single-branch hilt and curved quillon. Curved blade with flat back and hollow sides, 3.4 cm wide and 84 cm long, stamped with the lictor beam and "AP". Wooden scabbard with leather remnants, with two large brass fittings, without splints, stamped F and LR. Iron dart stamped "V". A.B.E. (Worn, leather missing). Consulate-First Empire period. Marked B: Bureau directeur (1812-1813). Mark F: Le Febvre, controller in 1811-1813. Unidentified LR hallmark.
