London 1756. Rare silver creamer in the shape of a cow with the hallmark of the goldsmith John Schuppe. Elegant cover on the back of the animal decorated with a garland of flowers. Small fly-shaped handle. Provenance: From a set of two very similar pieces, Belgian private collection. The second subject appears in number 39 of the catalog. Height: 10 cm. Length: 15cm. Weight: 126 grams. Attached is a copy of an evaluation report drawn up on January 20, 1989 by Mr. Bard H. Langstaff for S.J Shrubsole, London-New York. Valuation set at $37,500.
