OEuvres Paris, Didot, 1787-1792. 9 volumes in-4, marbled calf, roulettes framing the boards, beautifully decorated smooth spines, gilt lace inside, turquoise paper lining and endpapers, gilt edges (period binding). Brunet, II-1207 /// I. (2f.)-774 / II. XII-728 / III. 697-(1f.) / VI. 575-(2f.) / V. XXIV-623 / VI. VII-569-(4f.) / VII. 16-567-(2f.) / VIII. (2f.)-587-(4f.) / IX. 531-(6f.). An engraved portrait by Saint Aubin after Vivien and an unsigned portrait of the Duke of Burgundy. Copy enriched with a portrait of Fénelon engraved by Drevets after Vivien, a frontispiece by Picart engraved by Folkema and 48 plates hors texte for Les Aventures de Télémaque. These 48 figures are drawn by various artists, Cases (3), Coypel (9), Debrie (6), Dubourg (16), Favanne (1), Humblot (4), Picart (2), Scotin (1) and Souville (6) and are engraved by Bacquois (1), Beauvais (1), Bernards (5), Cochin (1), Debrie (1), Dupuis (3), Favanne (4), Folkema (6), Gunst (8), Haussart (2), Lebas (6), Mathey (1), Scotin (4), Surugues (2) and 3 unsigned. The copy also contains 2 duplicate leaves in volume IV, probably faulty and reprinted. A fine copy, despite a few stained leaves in volumes I and VII and a tear in the title-piece of volume IX.
