SPECTACLES (Les) de Paris ou calendrier historique & chronologique des théâtres... À Paris, Veuve Duchesne, [1769], in-24, red morocco, gilt-iron cartouche decoration, central coat of arms, small gilt motif in the corners, strewn with gilt flowers, smooth spine decorated with repeated floral decoration, lining and endpapers with gilt starred background, gilt edges (period binding). Collation: 1 f. title, 1 f. warning, 12 pp. calendar, 7 pp. "Life of Molière", 154 pp. 2 pp. table of contents. This calendar was published from 1751 to 1815, with an interruption between 1789 and 1800. It contains "anecdotes & a catalog of all the plays remaining in the Theatre in the various shows, the names of all living authors who have worked in the dramatic genre, & a list of their works. Attached are the residences of the principal actors, dancers, musicians, & other persons employed in the shows". A superb copy bearing the coat of arms of A.-M.-E. Le Gendre de Lormay, Countess Dufort de Cheverny (1736-1818). Dimensions: 125 x 63 mm. Provenances: Mme Ruau du Tronchet; Aubry-Vitet (1845-1930), with her bookplate.
