ALMANACH royal, year M.DCC.LXVII... À Paris, Chez Le Breton, [1767], in-8°, red morocco, boards decorated with a gilt plate, arms in the center, spine decorated with a fleur-de-lys repeated several times, lining and endpapers of blue tabis, gilt edges (period binding). Collation: 535 pp. A fine copy with arms that Olivier has not identified, although he does list them. It is adorned with an attractive plate designed by Pierre-Paul Dubuisson (17.. - c. 1762). The calendar has been interleaved with blank leaves, the first of which has handwritten notes, probably from the period. A heraldic engraving (bookplate?), signed N. Le Mire. The verso of the latter has been stamped with the mark of the Henri Berau (?) collection. Folio I8 was mitered at the time of binding, is shorter in margins and incorrectly numbered 141-142 for 143-144. Page 449 has a few discreet small stains. Dimensions: 193 x 125 mm. Provenance: ex-libris D. Zierer. A sale was organized in 1960 under this name, but it concerned modern illustrated books. Olivier, pl. 323, iron no. 1 on a 1766 Almanach royal; Rahir, Livres dans de riches reliures, 1910, pl. 87, no. 184f (Dubuisson plate); Barber (G.), The James A. de Rothschild bequest at Waddesdon Manor, 2013, I, pp. 319-335 (p. 328 for our plate).
