(Voltaire on Hénault) Hénault (1685-1770) went down in history with his Abrégé chronologique de France. The work covers the period from Clovis to Louis XIV. Published anonymously for the first time in 1744, it was to see many revised and corrected editions. It was often imitated. A luxuriously bound copy of the period. The bindings have been restored, corners, spines and headbands. One corner dented. Size : 168 x 109 mm. Provenance: 18th-century DH Menvilliers manuscript bookplate.
