APOLLINAIRE Guillaume (1880-1918).
Autograph MANUSCRIT, Avertissement; 2 pages in-12, on book request forms for a library [Bibliothèque Mazarine], some erasures and corrections.
Notice for an edition of Bernard de Trévies' "famous novel", L'histoire de Pierre de Provence et de la belle Maguelonne: "The edition we have followed is one of the oldest, and perhaps even the oldest. It is a small Gothic folio", probably dating from before 1490... "we have no doubt that the educated reader will find a delicate pleasure in reading the story of the love affairs of Pierre, son of the Count of Provence, and the beautiful Maguelonne, daughter of the King of Naples. These two perfect lovers, whose adventures have been translated into Flemish, Vulgar Greek, Castilian, Catalan, German, Danish and Polish, still deserve to hold the interest of people of taste today".
