All-sided curved flat desk in rosewood veneer...

All-sided curved flat desk in rosewood veneer in violet wood frames, opening with three drawers in the waistband and resting on four curved legs (insolate, lifts and restorations). It is richly decorated with chased and gilded rocaille bronzes, some of which have been added, such as sabots, falls, draw handles, key escutcheons, clasps, spandrels and mouldings (some of which have been added). Stamped by Matthieu CRIAERD, received as master on July 29, 1738, and stamped with the "poinçon de jurande". Louis XV period. Height : 78 cm - Width : 178 cm - Depth : 91 cm Provenance : Bernard Dillée collection, then by descent. Note : A member of an important Parisian cabinetmaking family, Matthieu Criaerd delivered several pieces of furniture for the Garde Meuble Royal through the merchant Hébert.
