A contemporary successor to Zao Wou-Ki and Chu Teh-Chun, Wang Yan Cheng is the last great Franco-Chinese master of lyrical abstraction. His large, dreamlike landscapes, mental maps of a geography between dream and reality, invite the viewer to meditative contemplation. Accumulating flat tints of color to the point of giving his canvases a thick texture, his works focus on the dialogue between man, the universe and nature. A true international cultural mediator, he is celebrated today in Asia as well as in Europe, and his works are increasingly appreciated on the art market.
