L.A.S. Paris, July 31, 1909. 3 pp. ½ in-4. Letterhead at his address, on "Imperial Century" watermarked laid paper.
Beautiful and interesting letter about Eugène Brieux's drama La Foi. He talks about his work on this work and its creation "[...] I have returned to take care of the replica of Brieux's La Foi that will be performed in Lourdes in September; many changes were made at the last minute, and Brieux has since made more [...]". He mentions the corrections he still has to make, and tells his correspondent of his forthcoming departure for Aix, then Lourdes "to work on the rehearsals for La Foi, which will be called les faux dieux. [ ...] ". At the end of the letter, he adds: "It amuses me to write a score (when it's short, like the one I'm doing at the moment), flutes, oboes, clarinets and everything that seems to have the effect of trees in a forest in which I'm walking... [...]".
