Batavorum, apoud vid. C. Boutesteyne & S. Luchtmans ; Delpis, apoud A. Beman, 1713. Two parts in one large volume, in-8, [8] f. (including gr. title), 862 p., [26] f. (index, fx-title), 224 p, pl., contemporary ivory vellum, smooth spine, title in ink, gilt fleurons and fillets, boards bordered by a double fillet with central medallion and angular fleurons, trace of laces (two small cracks in spine, gilt faded, scattered russeting and browning, crack in head margin of pp.545-549). An authoritative and scholarly edition, the second part of which includes the Life of Caesar. The illustration, entirely engraved on copper, includes a title by B. Picart, a portrait of Caesar, 3 fold-out maps and 11 plates, 5 of which are fold-outs. Provenance: handwritten prize mention, student's name scratched out, dated 1726 and signed by philosophy professor Gislebertus Vesselus Duker; modern stamp on lower flyleaf.
