A-Z 8, AA 2], woodcut bookseller's mark on title and v° of last f., contemporary soft vellum, smooth spine, traces of laces (accidents to spine, angular brown spot at beginning of vol. fading, misprint in margin fol. 2, 11, 124, very light angular wetness at very end of vol.).
One of the very first editions, the first Venetian edition, of the decisions of the Council of Trent, whose publication Pope Paul IV had entrusted to Paul Manutius. Almost simultaneously, in Rome in 1564, Manutius produced an in-folio edition, followed by an in-4° and an in-8°; and this one, published by Aldus the Younger, son of Paul Manutius, in Venice in in-8° format.
