Child's dream
Acrylic on canvas
92 x 65 cm
We would like to thank the artist for sharing with us all the stages in the creation of this work, regularly sending us photos of its progress, which we are sharing here with Internet users.
Detailed description of the work by the artist:
"6 Alphajets flank an F84 Thunderjet in an acrobatic formation resembling a "box", the first aircraft of the squadron which, on display in Algiers in 1953, was first named "La Patrouille de France" by Jacques Noetinger, the airshow's speeker.
The other two Alphajets remain under observation in the background.
In insert, lower left in the clouds, the face of a child dreaming as he watches them."
A fine tribute by the artist to the Patrouille de France, which contributed to the event with its donations.
Our artist, Thierry MARTINET, has been fascinated by aviation and, more specifically, aeromodelling and aeroplanes since his early childhood, and was influenced by the model of one of his father's cousins, René DEFINOD, a pilot in the French Air Force and member of the Patrouille de France from 1968 to 1971.
A passionate draughtsman, our artist has made a name for himself in the world of comic strips, always in line with his childhood passions.
Provenance: Work created by the artist for the event
