In the words of the artist at the time of donation in 2000:
"From a hat that created the Baba-Yhia character (Sketch: Grandfather at the Mcdo).
This hat went around the world.
It did 350 performances on stage."
"Décalages" is the title of the artist's first one-man show in 199, directed by Isabelle NANTY.
In it, he retraces his beginnings, from his departure from Morocco, via Montreal to France, where he trained at the famous Cours Florent.
Numerous characters, including Baba Yahya and Abderhazak El Merhaoui, have left their mark on our generations, with sketches such as "Le grand-père au Mac Donald's" and "La Chèvre de Monsieur Seguin", which he continues to perform on stage.
Provenance: Former donation by the artist to the association on April 1, 2000.
