Pierre Garnier (circa 1726-1800) was one of the greatest cabinetmakers of the 18th century. His clientele included merchants such as Léonard Boudin and, above all, the wealthy of the kingdom, to whom he delivered numerous commissions. Among them, Louis Georges Erasme, Marshal of France, the Duchesse de Mazarin and the Marquis de Marigny, brother of Madame de Pompadour, were the most regular customers.
