Miscellaneous set of Photographs (visiting cards, proofs and others) on the theme of Egypt. Five so-called visiting cards, albumen prints mounted on cardboard. On the fronts of the mounts, captions. Subjects: Philae, Sakkarah Pyramid, Mosque, Karnak, Temple, etc. Visual format approx. 8.5 x 6.5 cm; mount format approx. 10.2 x 6.8 cm.
Eleven silver prints mounted on the "Tomb of Merouka". On several mounts, captions. Examples: Interior - looking east along north wall, Temenos Wall, North Wall - Statue of Mereruka, ... An identified author: L. F. Thompson. Average visual format with margins approx. 25 x 20 cm; average montage format approx. 28 x 23 cm. On some visuals, ink and writing.
Attached are five large plates (probably from a period photographic travel album) containing over fifty laminated prints (attributed citrates) in various formats, including panoramic ones. Circa 1890-1900. Several pencil-captioned prints on mounts, examples: Philae, Edfu, Temple of Denderah, Karnak, Gibraltar, Pyramids, ... Various states.
