Fine Isfahan (Iran) wool and silk, Shah era, circa 1970. High-quality silky wool velvet, a few touches of silk, on silk foundations. Raspberry field with scrolls and garlands of stylized palmettes of flowers and foliage crenellated in scrolls framing a central rosette with an old gold and ruby floral crown. Four polychrome spandrels with finely drawn floral bulbs. Wide, sky-blue border decorated in the same way as the spandrels. Density of approx. 8,500 knots per dm2. Good condition 170 x 104 cm
