S.l.n.n., 1770-1772. 4 volumes in-4, xii-393-(3 of which the first and last are blank) + viii-345-(3 of which the last is blank) + iv-324 + iv-360 pp, stiff parchment, smooth spines with disparate colored title-pieces, marbled edges (modern binding in the old taste). A FLORENTINIAN PRIEST AND MAN OF LETTERS ACQUIRED IN THE LUMIERES, GIOVACCHINO CAMBIAGI (1747-circa 1822) took a particular interest in the Corsican cause. Related to the "printer of the Grand Duchy", he printed and distributed numerous libels and supporting texts hostile to Genoese policy, and continued to concern himself with the fate of Corsica after the French annexation in 1768. He was a member of the Société d'instruction publique du département du Golo, and of the Société centrale d'instruction publique du département de la Corse. Provenance: Xavier Versini (double bookplate on each volume, his signature on p. 11 and his initials on p. 26).
