Student at the Beaux-Arts, Francis Mampuya is alternately semi-figurative and abstract.
He exhibits mainly in Kinshasa, where he received first prize at an exhibition dedicated to the fiftieth anniversary of Independence.
Mampuya the rebel, the "libriste", has gradually become a safe bet in Congolese painting, an established reference.
It was presented at the AKAA fair in Paris in Novem.
