Medieval pewter tableware is extremely rare, having disappeared over the centuries due to the fragility and low value of the material. Only one other goblet seems to be related to it: preserved at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, it is decorated with a frieze with an inscription in Gothic letters, surmounted by animals and plants with a scroll course at the base, all on a squared background (inv. 30.131, fig.). It is given as French, 15th century.
