Saint George slaying the dragon in limestone carved in the round, polychromed and silvered. Mounted on a stubby white horse, the beardless young military saint is wearing a hat with a raised brim and a full suit of bladed armor, complete with elbow pads, knee pads, tassettes and spur-tipped plate solerets; Flower-shaped washers protect the armpits, while the cloak hangs down the back; the saint, standing on his stirrups, thrusts his spear, held in his right hand, into the mouth of the monster lying beneath his mount; naturalistic terrace with pebbles and clumps of flowers.
