This is the first library assembled by Baron Jean-Joseph-Sosthène de La Roche Lacarelle (1816-1887), which was sold en bloc to bookseller Antoine-Laurent Potier (1806-1881). In just a few years, the Baron had succeeded in assembling a library composed exclusively of rarities, reminiscent in some respects of Charles Nodier's cabinet, which he had taken as his model.
The hunting and fishing section is numbered 53-102.
