Rare pair of initiation masks Fang people, Southern Cameroon Wood, black and white pigments, patina of use H. 78 cm and 76 cm Provenance : Collected in 1958 in the Kribi region Private collection, Figeac Galerie Bruno Frey, Arnay-le-Duc, 2015 Jean-Claude L'Herbette Collection A study by Louis Perrois, which will be given to the purchaser, concludes that these two masks were fashioned for traditional use, and that they refer directly to G. Tessmann's 1907 finds.
