JAPAN, Satsuma kilns - MEIJI period (1868 - 1912) Two polychrome and gold enameled earthenware incense burners: - one square-shaped, decorated with a landscape and dignitaries surrounded by textile motifs, the lid in the shape of a rabbit. On the reverse, the kaizan mark. (Ears redone) H. 11.3 cm - the other of rectangular form, decorated with a picnic scene and landscape, peonies and sparrows, the lid adorned with brocade motifs.
