JAPAN - Late EDO period (1603 - 1868) Inro with four nashiji lacquer compartments decorated in hira and takamaki-e with gold and silver lacquer, gyobu, red lacquer, ceramic inlay and mother-of-pearl of two medallions, a hawk catching a crane in the vineyard and peonies and butterflies. Silver-lacquered interior. Signed Jokasai. (Chips, bumps, small missing parts). H. 8.3 cm Porcelain ojime decorated in blue underglaze.
