Hunting helper. Mid 3rd century A.D. H 43cm. Patinated, fine crystalline marble. Fragment from a column sarcophagus. The young man turned to the right, wearing a thick chiton and a himation, has full hair and wears long sideburns. The type occurs on hunting sarcophagi as the assistant of a hunting horseman.
