Late Roman portrait of a young man with stringy hairstyle and short beard. 2nd half 4th century A.D. H 29,5cm and with base 44,5cm. Insert head made of white fine crystalline marble. With French export license! Nose and part of the hair on the right side missing, numerous bumps especially on the chin, ears, calotte and the base of the neck, with base. Formerly in French private collection; before that in the Spanish private collection of the artist and professor José Luis Viñas, acquired in the 1970s.
