Pseudo-red-figure bowl of the Sokra group. Etruscan, 400 - 350 B.C. H to rim 9.8cm, W with handles 32cm, ø 24.2cm. Glossy earthenware with clay-ground opaque color and incisions. Inside tondo with hippocampus, outside each two women in conversation. Composed of fragments, minor missing parts retouched, painting outside partly rubbed, partly retouched. In Germany since 2007; from a Ticino collection, acquired in the 1980s.
