THE LAST SUPPER AT EMMAUS
High-relief, polychromed and gilded wooden altarpiece depicting the moment when Cleophas recognizes Christ Jesus at Emmaus. The scene takes place in the inn, with Cleophas standing in front of a credenza topped by a dish, his hands clasped. Opposite him, Christ is seated at the side of the other pilgrim, in front of a table on which are the Sacred Spirits. Probably Italy, 16th century.
