A French painter, he was a pupil of the portraitist Marcel-André Baschet (1862-1941). He was an artist drawn to Tunisia and the Maghreb coast, even setting up his studio in Tunis for two years. He painted many subjects from 1906 until his death in 1915, in particular street scenes and portraits. A posthumous exhibition was held in April 1919 at the Galerie Georges Petit in Paris.
