CHRISTOFLE CIE
Rare pair of five-light candelabra in gilt bronze with patina, decorated with foliage and branches in finely chased relief.
Christofle Cie" engraved signature.
Circa 1878.
Height: 58 cm
The Japanese-style flower motifs adorning these candelabras were undoubtedly designed by Emile-Auguste Reibier (1826-1893), head of the Christofle workshop in the late 19th century. This artist had earned the nickname "High Priest of Japonism" in 1878 from the famous silversmith Falize.
