We know of a grisaille by Boucher on the same subject, with many variants, in preparation for a tapestry cartoon in the Amours des Dieux series, now in the Musée du Louvre (inv. MI. 1025). The tapestry from the Beauvais manufacture is in the opposite direction, and also features numerous variants. One example is in the Metropolitan Museum of Art (inv. 1986.459).
We would like to thank Mme Françoise Joulie, who kindly confirmed the authenticity of this drawing after a visual examination.
