Pongratz, Peter Lot n° 19

Untitled, 1984 Colored pencil on paper Signed, dated and with dedication lower right 22,5 x 53,5 cm framed Peter Pongratz was born in Graz and studied printmaking in Vienna and Berlin. In 1968 he co-founded the group Wirklichkeiten, which played a significant role in the Viennese art scene in the 70s. His works, inspired by abstract expressionism, prehistoric and naive art, hang today in the collections of all the prestigious art institutions in Vienna. This drawing features a variety of popular aspects of his art: the organic forms, the immediacy and decisiveness of line, and the vibrant colors of his larger works. The dedication in the lower right corner reads "Happy Birthday".
