Butterfly dream, 1982 Oil on canvas Verso signed, dated, titled and inscribed 80 x 50 cm "Klinkan loved his paintings. Klinkan loved his children, and in his family paintings they play contentedly together with Klinkan animals. Excellent." Josef Mikl The Butterfly Dream was created in 1982, shortly after Alfred Klinkan was awarded the Otto Maurer Prize. It belongs to the animal cycle, which is created in the period, where Klinkan in his usual strong but reduced coloring creates a counter-world, which is in harmony with nature and in which all depicted objects are given a physiognomy. Thus, in addition to the depicted butterfly, rabbits and mythical creatures are visible, which invite us into an unknown universe. Provenance: Private collection Tyrol
