Burgkmair, Hans (1473-1531), et al. Theuerdank, of which 30 bll. with 26 (2 altcolor.) woodcuts by Hans Burgkmair, Leonhard Beck et al. from various editions. Editions of the 16th/17th century, plus two later woodcuts. Modern woodblock binding, 34:24 cm. First edition published in 1517 with 118 woodcuts, eleven further editions until 1693. Present chapter nos.21, 22, 23, 34, 37, 38, 39, 40, 44 (old color), 55 (2), 56, 57, 58, 59, 60, 62, 66, 72, 80, 84 (old color), 92, 113, 114, 115, 118 (after Beck's correction), partly from one of the two printings of the 2nd edition Augsburg 1519 (VD 16, B 1650 or 1651). - The individual leaves collected over time united in an appropriately unobtrusive Hldr.-Bd. with modest fillets, tls. bound, tls. expertly stapled to blank pages. - Loosely enclosed two more leaves with woodcut 84.
