Very good condition.
The theme of trees, and Cypresses in particular, is very dear to Mario Prassinos, who sees the tree as the bearer of sap, the sign of life, and associates Cypresses with individuals. This tapestry was inspired by the various oil paintings on paper entitled Cyprès (1956).
Many of Mario Prassinos' tapestries are held in the collections of the Mobilier National.
