Since the end of the 18th century this theme is used in a drawing by Michel-Bruno Bellangé in 1781 and in the design of a carpet kept at the Mobilier national (GMT 2064) for the Turkish boudoir of Marie-Antoinette in Fontainebleau where we can see at the corners of the eagles with wings spread over cassolettes. In the 19th century eclecticism prevails and takes up themes that are dear to him.
It can be compared to a screen sheet with eagle decoration in brocaded silk kept at the Mobilier national (GMMP- 25300-000) dated from the Second Empire (1848-1870).
