A WOOD NETSUKE OF A KAPPA (WATER SPRITE) ON A CLAM

The kappa climbing atop a large clam, attempting to extricate its right foot caught in the shell, the wood stained, the eyes inlaid, one himotoshi ringed with stag-antler; signed Suketada. 3.6cm (1 7/16in) long.
