A WOOD NETSUKE OF OKAME (GODDESS OF MIRTH)
By Sansho, late 19th century
Okame in mid-stride, carrying an oversized phallic mushroom on her back, pulling the rope tied around the mushroom to hold it securely in place; signed on the right side of her robes Sansho with a kao. 6.8cm (2 1//16in) high.
